Atlantic & Mediterranean Coastal Water and Soil Resilience Initiative (AMCWSRI)

Atlantic & Mediterranean Coastal Water and Soil Resilience Initiative

A Multinational Framework for Water Security, Coastal Regeneration and Climate Resilience

Vision

The Atlantic & Mediterranean Coastal Water and Soil Resilience Initiative (AMCWSRI) is a long-term international cooperation framework dedicated to strengthening water security, restoring coastal ecosystems, regenerating soils, supporting climate-resilient agriculture, and promoting sustainable economic development across the Atlantic and Mediterranean regions.

The Initiative brings together governments, research institutions, local communities, agricultural cooperatives, private companies and international partners to develop practical, scalable solutions for one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century—water scarcity and land degradation.

Mission

To transform vulnerable coastal regions into resilient landscapes by integrating renewable energy, sustainable water production, soil regeneration, ecosystem restoration and innovative agriculture.

Strategic Objectives

The Initiative seeks to:

Improve regional water security.

Restore degraded coastal ecosystems.

Combat desertification and soil degradation.

Support sustainable agriculture and food security.

Strengthen resilience to climate change.

Accelerate renewable energy integration.

Promote scientific research and technological innovation.

Support rural communities and local economies.

Encourage international cooperation and knowledge exchange.
